The Galapagos tortoise is one of the iconic animals of the Galapagos Islands, and what gave the islands their name. It is easy to appreciate these giant tortoises in the highlands of Santa Cruz, where tortoises roam freely between the National Park, people’s farms, and tortoise reserves.
